5kN Servo pneumatic actuator
Servo Pneumatic Actuators - up to 5kN
The Si-Plan servo-pneumatic actuator is a versatile, tried and tested component.
Actuators are available incorporating the following characteristics:
- Displacement travel up to 150mm.
- Acceleration: up to 3.2 m/sec/sec.
- Force from 10 to 5000 newtons.
- Operating frequency: static to 25 Hz.
- Typical unit weight: 10 kg.
- Operating air pressure: 4 to 12 bar.
- Typical air consumption at 1 Hz and 30 mm stroke
(equal to tidal volume of 2.34 litres): 28.3 litres per minute at 6 bar.
- Built-in load transducer; sensitivity 0.2 mV/N
- Built-in displacement transducer; sensitivity 12.5mV/mm
- High side load rejection.
- Dimensions: diameter: 150mm; length: 310mm for the 60mm stroke unit; 490mm for the 150mm stroke unit.
Applications
Si-Plan's servo-pneumatic actuators are employed in rigs including:
- Artificial limb testing machines.
- Materials testing machines, delivering static loads up to 10kN.
- Fatigue testing machines, delivering dynamic loads up to 8kN at 5Hz.
- Hydraulic damper testing.
Advantages of servo-pneumatic air servo systems include:
- high reliability (in excess of 100 million reversals without maintenance).
- little or no heat generated.
- low inertia.
- inherent predictable stall thrusts.
- very low lubrication requirements.
- no fire risk.
- able to run from workshop air supply with standard filtration, or bottled air.
- EMC benign.
- the static accuracy will normally be within 1% of full scale of the demand requirements.
Prices on application.
