Dual Purpose Static/Dynamic Torsion Test

Dual Purpose Static/Dynamic Torsion Test

Torsion test machine – 3600Nm fatigue and 8000Nm static capacity

Torque test rig with servo-hydraulic semi-rotary actuator for fatigue work, and additional prime mover with 8000 newton metres static capacity. Accommodates test parts up to 3 metres long. For testing static torsional fatigue, torsional stiffness and torsional strength.

  • Stiff base mounting a spine with clamping flange
  • Prime movers on fixed headstock
  • Torque cell mounted on moveable tailstock
  • Accommodates parts up to 3000mm long
  • Prime movers mounted on sub-plate enabling up to 150mm offset relative to the centre of the spine
  • Control with Si-Plan digital servo-control and data acquisition unit (up to 10kHz)
    • Full control over the test sequence
    • Enables programmable blocks of speed, torque and angular displacement
    • Enables ramps of torque and angle and switching of control feedback parameter
  • Supplied with two prime movers for increased capability
  • (A) Semi-rotary hydraulic actuator
  • ±3600Nm dynamic
  • ±5000Nm static
  • ±45°
  • fatigue capability up to 5 Hz at 5°
  • encoder to achieve 0.01° resolution
  • (B) Electric prime mover
  • ±8000Nm static
  • ±2000°

Typical applications

  • Automotive testing
  • Aerospace testing
  • Design qualification
  • Dynamic testing of parts under torsional load
  • Drive shaft testing for flaps and slats in aircraft wings
  • Drive line testing
