Load cells

Si-Plan has a range of standard load cell design rules.  These provide load bearing elements which can be either fatigue or static rated from 50N up to 5MN (5,000,000N).

These load bearing elements are used to manufacture:

• Shear web load cells (also known as low profile load cells and pancake load cells)
• Hoop (load ring) load cells
• Column load cells
• Cotton reel load cells
• Cantilever beam load cells

Si-Plan is able to make bespoke load cells with specific end fittings.  Load cells are usually strain gauged elements, but can also employ capacitance technology.

Si-Plan also offers a strain gauging service and can re-gauge load cells where existing metal work is structurally sound (no fatigue cracks), but the gauges have de-bonded from the substrate or where insulation has broken down.
